McCAIN, GIULIANI, HUNTER IN DEAD HEAT IN SC STRAW POLL

With most of the votes counted today going to John McCain, the Arizona senator pulled out a win the Spartanburg (S.C.) County Republican straw poll.

Here are the numbers, according to RedState.com:

  • McCain 164
  • Giuliani 162
  • Hunter 158
  • Brownback 85
  • Romney 80
  • Huckabee 21
The numbers counted up last night showed Giuliani at 158, Hunter at 152 and McCain well back at 116.

McCain's comeback, while making his showing obviously look a lot better, does not dull our point about Hunter and his strong performance so far in straw polls.
