ROMNEY TO ANNOUNCE NEXT WEEK

Former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney will officially announce his candidacy for the GOP nomination on Feb. 13 (one week from today) in his native Michigan, where his father was a popular governor in the 60's.

EDWARDS TO NIX PUBLIC CAMPAIGN FUNDS

John Edwards is the latest presidential candidate to announce he will not accept public campaign funding, saying the spending limits imposed on candidates who accept public funds would put him at a competitive disadvantage in his race for the Democratic nomination.
